Getting cash
Hong Kong is unusual: most banknotes are issued by three commercial note-issuing banks rather than by the monetary authority, so the same denomination circulates in three different designs, all equally valid. Only the $10 note and the coins are government-issued. The bauhinia coin series launched in 1993 replaced the Queen's portrait series, which also remains legal tender.
